One of my main responsibilities at Black Clover is to plan and design the product catalogs. For the 2027 Black Clover product catalog I took a different approach and reworked it from the ground up, creating a new visual and organizational system rather than building on the previous year's layout. This new approach reduced the catalog from approximately 250 pages to 104 while making it easier for customers to navigate and find products. The redesign also reduced print and production costs for the company. These product catalogs are a culmination of many months of work. They require multiple planning meetings, photo shoots, design and layout, revisions, proofs, press checks, and more before a final catalog is delivered.
The Challenge: The 250 pages of previous years catalogs had become cumbersome for customers and expensive to produce.
The Solution: A completely reimagined layout and organizational system that creates a much simpler user experience for both the sales reps and the customers.
In my time with dōTERRA, I have had the chance to be a large part of multiple product redesigns and new product designs. The most recent being the dōTERRA abode line. This line is made up of home cleaning products that use essential oils.
For the Abode product line:
The Challenge
Create a new home cleaning product line that felt elevated and sustainable while still fitting within the existing dōTERRA brand.
My Role
Product and packaging design, visual development, vendor collaboration.
Result
A cohesive packaging system designed around reusable materials and a more elevated visual identity.
I also had the opportunity to take an existing skin-care product line and give it a refresh in design. I put careful thought into this rebrand to keep some of the more recognizable elements of design from the old packaging while elevating and adding new exciting elements. The change was subtle but elegant. And very well received by all.
I have had the opportunity many times in my career to be part of photo and video shoots. This experience has ranged from gathering props, assisting with wardrobe, and moving lights to organizing shot lists, locations, talent, and directing the action.
For this two day product shoot, I led the creative direction for both photography and video. I developed the shot concepts, organized the creative needs for the shoot, and worked with the production team to bring the ideas to life. The shoot included both traditional photography and motion video content, including the use of a robotic camera arm.
Each year dōTERRA has two large conventions. Some of these conventions had up to 35k+ people in attendance. My team and I were tasked with creating all of the signage for branding, advertising, way-finding, recognition, and more. This signage fills two convention centers and takes months to conceptualize and design. This includes many planning meetings, new product design, swag/merchandise design, photo/video shoots, and many long nights designing all creative assets in order for the customers to have the best experience possible.
Pictured are some of the signs that were my own design and creation. The work put in for these events is extensive, but so rewarding when you see all of your creations come to life!
Gate 58 is a luggage and compression travel cube company. This was a fun identity to put together for this client.
I quite enjoy designing merchandise. Pictured here is a small selection of items I have designed for corporate events. I work with other departments, brainstorming teams, photographers, and vendors both local and overseas when working on merchandise.
A selection of logos designed within the past few years.
While working with Harrington Center for the Arts, I was able to be a big part of advertising, branding, organizing, volunteering, and photographing the event. Here is a selection of my work.
I was contracted recently to work with Megaplex Theatres recently for their exciting new NFT program. Members of this elite club would get exclusive benefits like pre-screenings of movies, invites to events, and the Limited Edition NFT bottomless popcorn bucket. This was a very fun and innovative project that I am so glad that I got to be a part of! The branding elements will be used in a wide variety including the website page, and the popcorn bucket, as well as other printed items and advertisements.
The great Charles Eames designed this iconic chair and I have always wanted one. I created a series of sales posters for the Herman Miller company that manufactures these great chairs.
Stay tuned for more to come. Thanks for stopping by.
